My exciting news this season is the publication by Frida Press, of a collection of my paintings entitled Blue Shadow Country. Inside the covers you will find paintings that give an overview of my natural landscapes and engineered landscapes. Along with the illustrations there is accompanying each image, an explanation of its genesis and a bit about process. Stay tuned for release dates, when and how to order.

Participating artists not only take the workshop but stay in the beautifully restored rooms of the 1870’s era brick building.
Tuition and lodging are included in the cost: $625. Spouses and partners are welcome. 35. per night extra
For those commuting or staying elsewhere Tuition only/ No Lodging $425.

Great design leads to great painting. Go beyond the surface and find the hidden visualtruths of nature. Using the underlying design as our guide we navigate from representationand shape-shift toward semi abstraction. Focus of demonstrations and hands on painting will employ the five art elements, line, hape, value, color, and texture in a practical way that aids in that journey to a visual language. During the workshop we transition from representational painting toward semi-abstraction through watermedia painting techniques that include transparent watercolor, opaque techniques, with an emphasis on drawing for painting.
