Workshops

Workshop Schedule

These workshops are intended for artists of all levels who have some experience in watercolor and would like to further their interest in painting and designing the landscape. Some workshops meet outdoors and some indoors. Others are a combination of both. With indoor classes we paint from out photos and sketches and the outdoor sessions are directly from nature. There are daily painting demonstrations, lectures, individual instruction and group critiques. Participants are responsible for their own art materials.

Listen to the Surf

The secret to visiting the California coast is to come in the fall or winter, the climate is the sunniest, and the summer throngs of tourists have dissipated. There are quiet beaches and overlooks all along Highway 1 where we can set up to paint from Ragged Point to Morro Bay. Cambria has several gourmet restaurants, shops, and art galleries so after workshop entertainment and dining won’t be found wanting. The rhythm of a bygone with open vistas, quiet country roads, and rugged seascapes, still exists here along the Central Coast, perfect for outdoor watercolor painting. Join us this autumn and listen to the surf.

Paint Yosemite Workshop

Peace falls on Yosemite during autumn as leaves turn and seasons change. Join us in painting in a place that has not enough words to describe its beauty adequately. We paint outside along the Merced River, trying to capture blue shadows on granite slabs and quiet reflections of fall color in the water.

There are four instructors that the attendees rotate between getting the opportunity to paint a day with each one.
