Paint Silver Lake this summer

Highway 88 starts its climb from Jackson and winds its way up toward the Carson Pass high country. As you come over a rise near Thunder Peak you are taken by surprise at the panoramic view of Silver Lake laid out before you. On the far side of the lake, nestled in the conifers is Kit Carson Lodge. This is the Sierra you remember from your childhood, a place to reflect and renew. There is so much to paint here in such close proximity. In September of “07, we painted at Sandy Cove, Caples Lake, and Woods Lake all just a few miles away. There is gourmet dining in the evening and maybe even time for an after dinner stroll. Bring your paints and prepare for an attitude adjustment.
